This paper examines role of beta-catenin and related partners in dendrite growth.
There are two cases:
1. beta-catenin associates with N-cadherin and promotes activity-independent growth which doesn't require Wnt signaling
2. Wnt signaling is required in activity dependent (KCL depolarization) growth, and b-catenin is the downstream molecule. This process also involves transcription.
