Authors attempt to demonstrate that FCN2 binds to late apoptotic and necrotic cells by binding to DNA. Compliment activation data was unconvincing. DNA dot blot looked good - positive for FCN binding, but GlcNAc was unable to compete for binding, suggesting FCNs bind to DNA via the tails, not the fibrinogen like lectin domain. Binding was Ca++ dependent.
