Immunohistochemical evidence identifying the site of androgen production in the ovary of the protogynous grouper, Epinephelus merra.
Mohammad Ashraful Alam et al.
Cell Tissue Res 320 (2), 323-9 (May 2005)
Site of androgen synthesis has been found in the periphery of ovary of a hermaphrodite fish, suggesting that this site could be a potential site for synthesis of androgen triggering female to male sex change in this species.

A fungal product (Rhizopus extract) induces somatic growth and sexual maturation of a salmonid fish
www.blackwell-synergy.com
Water extract of Rhizopus is found to contain steroidogenic activity, particularly androgens. It enhances somatic growth and increases androgen content in males than does for females.

Aromatase inhibitor also causes sex change of adult but sexually immature female fishes
Sex inversion of sexually immature honeycomb grouper Epinephelus merra by aromatase inhibitor
Ramji Kumar Bhandari et al.
Zoolog Sci 21 (3), 305-10 (Mar 2004)
Estrogen is wonderful! It keeps strong survellance on female sex. If you got to make it low, it loses its function of surveilling over sex.
