"Alcohol kills you. It hurts your family," said Johnny Avalak, who told the audience he nearly died of alcohol poisoning twice. "I think alcohol should be banned from this community."
Paul Emingak took a different point of view, saying the community should deal with the underlying issues that cause problematic drinking.
"I don't think alcohol is the problem," Emingak said. "I think the problem is within us and we just [drink] alcohol to try to solve the problem."
