Goats are very effective at reducing the fire fuels as they eat the brush as well as the grasses down to a safe level without killing them or hurting them. Goats are browsers like deer and elk, which if put into perspective it is like having a migrating herd of these animals moving through and doing what nature intended to happen.

The flash in the sky is a remnant of a blast 7,000 light-years away in the Lupus constellation. Scientists say that it was the brightest observed supernova in recorded history, and that the light from the explosion could be seen in the daytime for weeks afterward.

The discovery last week of water ice just under the surface of Mars has researchers buzzing, given that water is a key ingredient for life. The finding, by the Phoenix Mars Lander, is the most recent hint that the Red Planet might be habitable to microbes.
