Angiogenesis - a review of Judah Folkman's impact

Judah Folkman was the 'father of angiogenesis'. He first described a hypothesis where tumours survived by developing new blood vessels and suggested that targeting the VEGF receptor might lead to tumour shrinkage. He was right and Avastin (bevacizumab) was the proof of concept.
