As much as we like watching reruns of The Prisoner, we have to say it is time we were assigned a number as we attempt to quantify scientific progress both in general and for the individual in a virtual world in which scientific progress is based on more than the impact of a journal article. Attualmente sono più di 10.000 i siti che supportano OpenID come metodo di autenticazione. Secondo PCWorld Yahoo, implementando l'OpenID triplicherà il numero di account arrivando alla soglia di 368 milioni, di cui ben 248 milioni di Yahoo.
