NanoSense
nanosense.org
This website contains the curriculum units developed by NanoSense, an NSF-funded project to bring nanoscale science to the high school level. It consists of four free curriculum units drawing on concepts from physics, chemistry, and biology. They are: intro to nanoscience; how light interacts with matter; converting light into electricity; and solutions for clean water. All are aligned with project-based learning pedagogy. Each unit includes background material, directions for teachers, activities/lessons, and embedded assessments.

Stain or sweat, apply nanotech
Jyothi Kiran
nanomaya, (20 Apr 2009)
Cleaning stained upholstery is not only cumbersome but expensive as well since it is a recurring process. Imagine large seating areas such as football stadia, hospitals, conference halls, airports, casinos, theatres…Now imagine stains on it: coffee, juice, soda, beer and wine, add food stains like tomato sauce, mustard, chocolate, cheese, chilly and samosa, and other stains such as sweat, paint, pee, and blood, and we have a mega cleaning challenge.
