H3K64 trimethylation marks heterochromatin and is dynamically remodeled during developmental reprogramming
Sylvain Daujat et al.
Nat Struct Mol Biol, published online 28 Jun 2009
The authors characterize the genomic location and dynamics of H3k64 trimethylation, finding it to be localized to heterochromatin and showing unique and rapid developmental dynamics. One worries that their results may be complicated if their antibody loses substrate recognition in the presence of some other histone modification. However, the length of H3 used to raise the antibody (57-71) doesn't include any other modifications that I know of.
