I`m not real good on this topic but the health problems that people are having drew me to this one. Take a look at the diseases caused by the environment and how to get help from a toxicologist if it happens to you.

Novel modifications of an environmental scanning electron microscope (ESEM) were made in order to measure the local deformations in drying cement paste. These nondestructively determined moisture-induced plane strains, obtained in 1 mm thick cement paste samples, are orthotropic. They vary with variations of relative humidity between 70%-80% and 40%-50%, being the highest at 20% RH. Both drying shrinkage and expansion of cement paste microstructure occur in early-age and mature samples. Microcra...
forensic nursing, (14 Jun 2008)
Forensic nursing is a new specialty in the field of nursing. It covers the duties of helping the survivors of the criminal activities, collecting every possible forensic evidences and making available health care facilities to the prisoners. There is not one type of a forensic nurse and forensic nurse has also not deal with dead [...]

Application of ion mobility spectrometry in cases of forensic interest
Forensic science international 161 (2-3), 130-40 (12 Sep 2006)
Ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) has been known as an analytical technique since the late 1960s and early 1970s. To date, it has been successfully utilized for the detection of environmental pollutants, warfare agents, explosives, herbicides, pesticides, petroleum products as well as for the detection of prescription and illicit drugs. In this paper the authors describe the use of the IMS technology in cases of forensic interest in Salzburg, Austria. We report the use of the IMS methodology for the rapid analysis of hallucinogenic mushroom material as well as for the analysis of samples taken after an explosion. A new application of the IMS technology for the analysis of postmortem sweat samples for drugs is also presented.

Abstract
Experiments were conducted to collect gunpowder (propellant) residues from shooters' clothing by vacuum and to analyze them by gas chromatography/thermal energy analyzer (GC/TEA), ion mobility spectrometry (IMS), and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The residues were collected on fiberglass and Teflon filters using the portable vacuum sampler, all supplied with the IMS instrument. Several solvents were examined for the extraction of the propellant components from the filters. The extracts were centrifuged and/or filtered, concentrated by evaporation, and analyzed without any additional clean-up procedure. Based on the results of the study, an operational method for analysis of gunpowder residues was introduced into casework without changing the present operational technique for gunshot (primer) residue (GSR) analysis on clothing implemented by the Israel Police. In the modified method, the clothing is first sampled by double-side adhesive-coated aluminum stubs (the tape-lift method) for GSR analysis (the existing method), followed by vacuum collection for propellant residue examination. The issue of interpretation of the analytical results is discussed.

The IMS (Ion Mobility Spectroscopy) instrument 'Ionscan' takes advantage of the fact that trace quantities of illicit drugs are adsorbed on dust particles on clothes, in cars and on other items of evidence. The dust particles are collected on a membrane filter by a special attachment on a vacuum cleaner. The sample is then directly inserted into the spectrometer and can be analyzed immediately. We show casework applications of a forensic chemistry and toxicology laboratory. One new application of IMS in forensic chemistry is the detection of psilocybin in dried mushrooms without any further sample preparation.
