Commercial Buildings Historical Publications reports, data and building questionnaires
Energy Information Administration, (May 2008)
"The Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS) is a periodic sample survey about energy consumption, expenditures and related characteristics of U.S. commercial buildings. Links to previously published documents are provided below. Beginning in 1999, reports were only issued electronically. Additional electronic releases are available on the CBECS homepage. Commercial buildings include all buildings in which at least half of the floorspace is used for a purpose that is not residential, industrial, or agricultural, so they include building types that might not traditionally be considered "commercial," such as schools, correctional institutions, and buildings used for religious worship. Over the years, shorter reports were also issued on specialized issues related to CBECS. These are found below under “Other Related Reports.” "..

Manufacturing-Industrial Energy Consumption Survey(MECS) Historical Publications reports, data and questionnaires
Energy Information Administration, (May 2008)
"The Manufacturing Energy Consumption Survey (MECS) is a periodic national sample survey devoted to measuring energy consumption and related issues in the manufacturing sector. The MECS collects data on energy consumption, purchases and expenditures, and related issues and behaviors. Links to previously published documents are given below. Beginning in 1998, reports were only issued electronically. Additional electronic releases are available on the MECS Homepage. The basic unit of data collection for this survey is the manufacturing establishment. Industries are selected according to definitions found in the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), which replace the earlier Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. "

Residential Transportation Historical Publications reports, data and questionnaires
Energy Information Administration, (May 2008)
"The Energy Information Administration conducts several core consumption surveys. Among them was the Residential Transportation Energy Consumption Survey (RTECS). RTECS was designed by EIA to provide information on how energy is used by households for personal vehicles. It was an integral part of a series of surveys (i.e., core consumption surveys) designed by EIA to collect data on energy used by end-use economic sectors. The RTECS collected data on the number and type of vehicles used by the household. For each vehicle, data were collected on the number of miles traveled (commonly called VMT) for the year, the number of gallons of fuel consumed, the type of fuel used, the priced paid for fuel, and the number of miles per gallon. Additional electronic releases are available on the Transportation homepage. "...
