House, Focusing on Cost, Approves Higher Education Act
www.insidehighered.com
The House of Representatives on Thursday overwhelmingly approved legislation to renew the Higher Education Act that would toughen regulation of the student loan industry and simplify the process of applying for federal financial aid, among many other things. But while the legislation touches on an enormously broad range of issues and programs, the debate and discussion surrounding the measure focused heavily on the rising prices of college and the increasing difficulty students and families have paying for a higher education

In-house professionals demand higher
adorno.freehostingz.com
In-house professionals demand higher salaries than professions working in an SEM agency. The key reason behind this salary difference is that in-house professionals possess stronger domain knowledge compared to an agency professional and thus the role performed by an in-house professional is more critical.

G-protein coupled receptors in plant cells
jxb.oxfordjournals.org
G-protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are plasma membrane-spanning proteins which transduce specific physical and chemical extracellular signals into the cell. In contrast to animal cells, signal transduction pathways involving GPCRs are poorly understood in plants. However, circumstantial evidence such as the presence of G-proteins and many classical downstream signalling elements (e.g. phospholipases A2 and C) suggest that GPCR-mediated signalling operates in plant cells, in a fashion analogous to those in animal and yeast cells. In this review the evidence for plant GPCR-mediated signalling is examined. The evidence for plant G-proteins is examined at both the biochemical and molecular levels and the possible roles of plant GPCR-mediated pathways are considered. Finally, a number of strategies which may ultimately allow for the identification and characterization of plant GPCRs are presented and provide an insight into the plant signalling pathways that use this transduction mechanism.
